In December
2002 we traveled to Tshipise, about 36km SSE of Messina,
South Africa to view my first Total Solar Eclipse. The
viewing site itself was about 30km east of Tshipise. On
the day of the eclipse coulds moved in from the east and
we though we were going to see nothing. I managed to take
some photo and webcam images.
The photos below were taken at prime focus of a 4.5 inch
Newtonian telescope and using a Minolta X-300 camera.
The camera was set on auto exposure since my plans to
take photos at different times with different exposure
times would not have worked due to the clouds. Images
11 to 13 are at Totality.
